JR Grande is a Los Angeles artist, composer, and songwriter who builds records from the idea out. Born in East LA in 1980 and raised in El Sereno, he grew up inside a mix of sounds and cultures that never stayed in one lane. East LA gave him rhythm and grit. The San Gabriel Valley gave him range and contrast. Living between both taught him how to listen for the common thread, then write from that place. His influences live side by side, hip hop, corridos tumbados, 90s and 2000s R&B, country, regional Mexican, underground hip hop, trap, and trance. He does not treat those as separate worlds. He treats them as colors he can pull from when the story calls for it.
Outside the music, JR Grande runs a record label and a marketing company out of El Monte, California. He comes from the same world you know well, where web, automation, storytelling, and release strategy all connect. He is close to builders who think in systems, who care about search, content, creative direction, and rollout timing, because the song is only part of the job. The drop has to travel. The message has to reach people. JR Grande makes music with that full picture in mind, culture first, craft always, and a modern toolkit that turns concepts into finished records.
